24 May - Engen, Germany

Waldemar and son, Nick, took us to the Hohenzollern Castle at Sigmaringen. It was built between 1200 and 1250 – very impressive and well-kept. It has a long and colourful history and has spectacular views from the top. We looked at Bodensee on the way back, and another lovely town, Radolfzell, on this water.

On our way back from Bodensee we stopped at a small local lake, Aachquelle, which is fed from the Danube, underground. We saw people there scuba diving and they had been swimming, under water to see the grottoes underneath for several kilometers – mad!!
